Dogon and the Sirus Star System

Living in the central plateau region of Mali, the Dogon have long been recognized for their advanced understanding of the Sirius star system, particularly their knowledge of Sirius B, a white dwarf star invisible to the naked eye, long before modern telescopes confirmed its existence.
 
This has led to widespread fascination and speculation about the origins of their knowledge, with some attributing it to ancient, possibly extraterrestrial contact.
 
They are known for their sophisticated irrigation systems, unique cliffside dwellings, and skill in iron smelting, which played a crucial role in West African technological development. Their traditions continue to inspire both scholars and cultural observers today.
